Chinese Company to Examine the Logistics of Connecting PP-Siem Reap-Poipet

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen received Du Fei, Chairman of the China Road Bridge Corporation (CRBC), for a courtesy call at the Peace Palace on the afternoon of June 7.

During the meeting, Du Fei thanked the Prime Minister for presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway and allowing the company to sign a Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Poipet Expressway MoU that same day.

He promised that the company will accelerate the construction of the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway as soon as possible and send a team of technicians to study the requirements for a Phnom Penh-Siem Reap and Siem Reap-Poipet expressway in the near future.

The PM expressed his admiration for the CRBC, which has worked in Cambodia for over 20 years to improve the country’s infrastructure, especially in regards to roads and highways. He encouraged the company to promote the efficient construction of the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway and to thoroughly study the logistics of building an expressway to connect Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and Poipet, which will boost Cambodia’s socio-economic status.
